Kirkwood Train Station

Kirkwood Station

The Camden and Atlantic Railroad was completed in 1854 and a station and post office were built which at first were called White Horse, after the tavern which stood about a 1/4 mile a way. By 1870 the station and post office were both known as Kirkwood in honor of Joel P. Kirkbride. This picture was taken about 1900.
